Tom is founder and chief executive of Grantfin, a blockchain startup focused on bringing transparency to DeFi. Grantfin is Tom’s second startup, founding a fintech company in 2015 in the marketplace lending space. Tom successfully exited ILA Capital in 2021 and started Grantfin in 2022. Previous to beginning his startup journey, Tom was a banker, starting his career as a foreign exchange trader at Citibank in London and continuing his career in New York until 2015. He has in depth experience in trading, market making, risk management, structuring and distribution. He has his series 24, 7, 66 and 63 licenses and has an undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of Alabama and a Masters in Applied Mathematics from Oxford. He is a dual US and UK citizen. He has been a frequent speaker at fintech events in the US, Europe and Asia.
